Hence, this study sought to improve the understanding of the instruction based on reflective thinking activities and the role of it in classroom practices at school. The findings are believed to provide information for teachers and school administrators as well as insights that may be relevant to similar studies elsewhere. Method(s): The pre/post-test control group research model was used in this study. The research was carried out in education-instruction year in an elementary school in Niğde province, Turkey. In total, 64 students in two different classes in the 7th grade of this school participated in the study. The data obtained in the study was analyzed by the computer programme SPSS The arithmetic means and standard deviations were calculated for each group. In order to test the significance between the groups, the independent samples t-test was used. The significance level was taken as.05. Findings and Discussions: The results of the research showed a significant difference between the attitude scores of the experiment group and the control group. It was also found that the instruction based on reflective thinking activities was more effective in the positive development of the students academic achievement levels. At the end of the research, it was revealed that the students who were educated by the instruction based on reflective thinking activities were more successful and had higher attitude towards the course than the students who were educated by the instruction based on student guide books. Conclusions and Recommendations: The data collected from the research show that the attitudes of the students in the experimental groups which the instruction based on reflective thinking activities carried out developed more than the control groups attitude which the instruction based on student guide books applied.
